We have two brand new courses!

May 11, 2017 By Kerry Vital

CITN and its association partners are constantly on the lookout for new courses that we can offer the public. You don’t have to be a member of us or one of our association partners to register for a course!

We are extremely excited to announce that we have two new course offerings for June: Arc Flash Safety Workshop and Introduction to Electrical Quality Management Systems (QA/QC). Let’s start with our Arc Flash Safety Workshop:

This course is designed for front line workers responsible for electrical systems in the CSA Z462-12 electrical safety standard. Participants will gain a full understanding of hazards encountered while operating or maintaining electrical installations in the low voltage (below 750 volts) class including a full understanding of the arc hazard categorization, appropriate personal protective equipment selection and safe work procedures.
This one day workshop is designed to assist organizations to identify shock and arc flash hazards and prevent injuries and incidents associated with those hazards.
Our first session will take place in Burnaby on June 21, and then in Victoria on June 26.

Here’s the info on our Introduction to Electrical Quality Management Systems (QA/QC):

This two-day training is designed to provide participants with a practical understanding of the general principles and framework of electrical quality management systems, the purpose and requirements of codes and standards, and their application for the delivery of a quality product or service.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain key elements of a quality management system
  • Define the concepts of quality assurance and quality control
  • Identify industry skills sets for employment
  • Define the fundamental industrial standards and essential electrical codes
  • Identify and perform fundamental work place safety standards
  • Identify and perform fundamental work place safety standards

This course is designed for participants who have some training in the installation or maintenance of electrical systems.
Our first course is in Burnaby on June 22-23, and then in Victoria June 27-28.
